Kid Zone Tent

This tented area will offer hands-on educational opportunities provided by a variety of organizations showcasing their contributions to the science and technology fields.  Activities in the Kid Zone tent will include:

  • Coloring.  Color your favorite military plane at the Airshow:  F-4 Phantom, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-18 Growler, B-24 Liberator, or C-130 Hercules.Build An Airplane Rib
  • Make a Paper Airplane.  Fold a paper airplane and test-fly it in the Hang Time Flight Test Area.
  • FPG-9 Factory.  Cut out and assemble a 9" Foam Plate Glider (FPG-9).  Then, put your FPG-9 up against others to see who can fly the greatest distance.
  • Build An Airplane Rib.  Build an actual 20-inch spruce rib for an airplane wing.  Make a rib just like an airplane builder does using the same material, jigs, and tools required for a full-size rib.
  • Kids Speaker Forum.  "Rainbow Man" will entertain kids with his unique magic effects demonstrating "the science of magic and the magic of science."  Other speakers include women in aviation and members of the Metro State College of Denver Flight Team.
  • Fly the Kiddie Hawk.  The Kiddie Hawk is a mechanical flight trainer that allows kids to take their first flight lesson, simulating the motion and control of real flight, albeit just a few feet off the ground.
