Aircraft Greeters

Greet all arrivals, be sure they are properly registered, distribute the "Pilot Stimulus Package," issue wrist bands, answer questions and get the information to the judges in a timely manner. Detailed job description will be provided to those who volunteer for this position.

Aircraft Judges

Judge the registered aircraft that are entered for the different EAA categories. Previous knowledge helpful, training available.

Aircraft Registration

Campsite Attendants

Front Gate (Admissions)

Number of volunteers needed (6 per shift - 12 each day)

Responsibilities:

  • Sell appropriate wristband for entrance
  • Assist children and elderly in attaching wristbands
  • Collect and secure cash
  • Call for cash pickup as needed
  • Secure entrances to allow access only after purchase of ticket/wristband
  • Assist handicapped patrons as necessary
  • Distribute programs to patrons as they enter the gate
  • Answer questions in regards to vendor location, air show start time, etc.
  • Maintain open access to emergency gate

Military Vehicle Encampment Area

Radio Wrangler

This person will help make sure that the radios are available to the appropriate people and that the radios are signed out and signed in properly. This person will also be responsible for making sure that the spare batteries are kept charged. This person will also assist the swapping out of batteries when they die.

Ground Transportation

  • People Mover Drivers - drive tractor pulling people mover trailer through parking area
    Volunteers needed/shift: 1, Shifts Open: shifts are 2 hours to allow breaks if needed. To receive daily volunteer benefits you need to schedule 2 shifts/day (admission) or 3 shifts/day (admission and lunch)
  • People Mover Safety Observer
    Ride trailer to maintain safe passenger movement
    Volunteers needed/shift: 1, Shifts Open: shifts are 2 hours to allow breaks if needed. To receive daily volunteer benefits you need to schedule 2 shifts/day (admission) or 3 shifts/day (admission and lunch)

Vendor Relations

Friday(7-5): Job intails helping vendors to their spaces on for set up, giving rides back to vendor parking when needed, help fix any problems they might have.

Saturday (7-12): taking vendors to there spaces(late arivals not able to come to early set up) trips back and forth from vendor parking area, general problem solving.

Sat after 12: rides to the vendor area general problem solving.

Sunday: rides back and forth to vendor area parking. All shifts will also help with anything dept head asks.

Positions Available:

Friday: 12-15 people all day

Saturday morning till 12 pm: 12-15 people

Saturday 12-4pm: 2-3 people

Sunday all day: 2-3 people

Young Eagles

The format of each description is: Title (Number of persons needed per day) - Job Description, details and requirements.

Sign-Up Greeters (12-15) This person will greet the potential Young Eagles and their parent(s), explain the Young Eagle program to them and answer any of their questions. This person will also explain that the Young Eagle flights will take place on a different day and at a different airport. This person will then put the child's name on the sign-up sheet in any open time slot.
